She Leads Africa accelerator program Selects 10 Startups

SLA-702x336Earlier today She Leads Africa (SLA) announced 10 early stage businesses that have been accepted into the 2016 SLA Accelerator Programme which began on July 11th in Lagos, Nigeria.

The financial details of the acquisition was not made public. ANOZIM said the acquisition of the tech-blog coincides with the unveiling of African Media Works.

MyQ is Winner Of 2015 Seedstars World Lagos Pitch

myqMyQ, a mobile app that provides queue management and ticketing services for Nigeria’s transport operators emerged winner at today’s Seedstars Lagos pitch.

MyQ competed along with 11 other startups that TechCabal announced earlier.

The startup based in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, will compete at the global finals of Seedstars World holding in Switzerland next February and will be up for USD 500,000 in investment.

Demo AfricaDEMO Africa released a list of the thirty technology start-ups from across Africa that will pit chat the 2015 edition of the DEMO Africa event. Last year’s giant, Nigeria, topped the list again with 8 representatives, among them Zuvaa, Smartedu, MavisComputel, CarpartsNigeria, TalkingBookz, PoshRite, iKon Tracker and OgaVenue. Kenya came in second with with 6. South Africa is third with 3 representatives while Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon and Zimbabwe each have two. World Bank Appoints Nigerian Woman As Vice President

Arunma-OtehFormer director-general of the Security Exchange Commission (SEC)Arunma Oteh, has been appointed vice-president and treasurer of the World Bank.

Her appointment was confirmed by the president of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, in a press statement, Cable reports.

The statement reads:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Arunma Oteh as VP and Treasurer of the World Bank.
